What this office does
The District Clerk is the recorder and custodian of court documents for more than 90 courts in Harris County, maintaining the official record of proceedings in the criminal, civil, family and juvenile district courts, the county criminal courts and various specialty courts. The office produces civil citations, criminal warrants, judgments and sentences; summons prospective jurors and runs jury services; collects court fees and fines; secures trial evidence; processes passport applications; and manages a court registry of accounts held on court order.
