The City Council approved contracts with six construction companies to run a home repair program for Houston residents whose single-family homes were damaged by the 2021 winter storm. The ordinance also authorizes $33.5 million in federal disaster recovery funds (CDBG-DR21) to support the program over up to five years.

What it means for you

Eligible Houston homeowners or occupants whose homes were damaged in the February 2021 winter storm may be able to receive repair assistance through this program. Participants would sign a tri-party agreement, deed of trust, and promissory note as part of qualifying for the aid.
