Outcome

A motion was made by Commissioner Briones, seconded by Commissioner Garcia, to direct the Office of County Administration, in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget, to develop and return to Court a structured Program Sunset and Strategic Review Process to begin in Fiscal Year 2027. The process shall: establish a rotating, policy-area based review cycle under which a defined subset of County programs is evaluated annually; apply clear evaluation criteria, including relevance to core County duties, demonstrated performance outcomes, operational efficiency and duplication, and alignment with adopted strategic priorities; and deliver formal recommendations to Commissioners Court regarding continuation, modification, consolidation, or sunset of reviewed programs.
