The resolution calls on all agencies and entities operating within the county – regardless of jurisdiction – to adhere to a clear, consistent, and constitutionally grounded process when detaining or relocating individuals, regardless of immigration status; and affirms that Commissioners Court members have each taken an oath to uphold and defend the U.S. and Texas Constitutions, and calls upon the federal government to enact comprehensive reforms to federal immigration enforcement to establish accountability, ensure transparency, prioritize genuine public safety, and the protection of basic human rights.
