The City Council is asked to approve applying for a grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to fund PM 2.5 air quality monitoring, and to authorize the designated City Director to submit the application, accept any awarded funds, spend them, and pursue any follow-on awards.

What it means for you

If approved, the City would seek grant funding from the state for equipment or programs that measure fine particulate air pollution (particles 2.5 micrometers or smaller); residents in Districts B and I would be among those affected if the monitoring is conducted in those areas.
