Outcome

A motion was made by Commissioner Ellis, seconded by Commissioner Garcia, to direct DEEO to continue working with the Auditor to review DEEO’s wage compliance policies and procedures that have been in place from November 2025 to provide Court with an update at the July 9th meeting of Commissioners Court that identifies: the process for approving certified payroll records, including the forms of documentation used and requested by DEEO to certify payroll; the process used for confirming worker classifications; the process for conducting worksite visits and worker interviews; and the process for investigating complaints from workers regarding wage compliance. This update will include a preliminary set of recommendations for improving the process and identify any gaps in the existing process and additional support will be given to DEEO if needed. The motion carried by the following vote: (3-0)
