The City Council held a public hearing on the proposed city budget for fiscal year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Several procedural motions were adopted to adjust the order and list of public speakers signed up to address the Council.

City Council confirmed Kathleen M. Jordan to Position 1 on the Board of Directors of the Lake Houston Dredging District. The vote was unanimous among members present, with Council Member Evans-Shabazz absent.

The City Council approved the completed work and authorized any remaining final payment to Industrial TX Corp for chlorine system improvements at the East Water Purification Plant (Package 3).

The city council approved the completion of a ditch re-establishment contract with J. Rivas Construction, LLC and authorized any remaining final payment owed under the agreement.

The city council voted to accept the completed work and authorize any final payment owed to T Construction, LLC for a wastewater collection system rehabilitation and renewal project spanning eight council districts.

The council voted to extend a contract with J. Brandt Recognition, Ltd. and Brand IQ, LLC through June 14, 2027, and to increase the spending cap for J. Brandt Recognition, Ltd. from $135,218.60 to $185,218.60 for the city's Employee Service Awards Program managed by Human Resources.

The City Council approved up to $2 million to buy water and meals for first responders working during the FIFA World Cup, contracting with 11 food and retail vendors including HEB Central Market, Costco, Sam's Club, and several local restaurants.

The City Council approved a one-year warranty program purchase from Teledyne FLIR Defense, Inc. for the Houston Police Department at a cost of $171,498.
