Henderson, Port Houston, and Betsy Ross — along with all their programs, at the end of the 2025–2026 school year. It also approved changing the attendance boundaries for eight other elementary schools to absorb affected students.

TEA has said HISD will return to an elected board once three conditions are met: no multi-year academically unacceptable campuses, special-education compliance, and board procedures aligned with student-focused governance.
